Suppliers of Moulds, these can range from very basic moulders of Hand Lay-up Glass Reinforced Polyester resin parts, to industrialised moulders, manufacturing state of the art Carbon Fibre composite Aerospace and Automotive parts.
When choosing a moulder for a specific type of product, A Class quality Automotive Exterior Panels for example, one with previous experience in the field should be the obvious starting point rather than a moulder at the beginning of the learning curve for that particular application.
The Tooling Medium will dictate whether the moulder manufactures their own tooling or whether it is subcontracted to a dedicated tool maker. Laminated Tooling is likely to be manufactured in-house by the moulder from master models, where-as CNC machined metal tooling would normally be outsourced.

Suppliers of the moulds used for forming composites, also known as tools.
These can range from suppliers of basic Laminated Tooling (Hand Lay-up) for Glass Reinforced Polyester parts (usually done in-house), to Industrialised Tooling suppliers, manufacturing state of the art CNC Machined Metal Tooling for the production of Carbon Fibre composite Aerospace and Automotive parts.
Tooling costs and complexity increase as the requirements for part performance, surface quality and the number of parts for production increase.
